Mountain Khakis -- not tough enough

I picked up a pair of Mountain Khakis brand Teton Twill pants last year at Gabriel Brothers in Lexington. They looked like a heavy duty pair of pants: triple stitched, double panels on the heel cuffs, and a YKK zipper. Unfortunately, they almost immediately started wearing on the back pocket where I carried my knife. I switched the knife to a front pocket, but now I see they’ve worn through on the wallet side and the hems are wearing through as well. This is after, at most, one year of wear.

In comparison, a pair of Wrangler brand Riggs Workwear pants I bought at about the same time, have no wear in the pockets and only the slightest signs of wear on the hems.

The Mountain Khakis website is impressive and they offer a one year warranty on their pants. Too bad I don’t have a receipt.
